Sun Valley Skiing
Ski Bald Mountain, which can be accessed at River Run on the south and Warm Springs on the north. Finely appointed day lodges, a total of 14 lifts and 65 varied runs await on either side of the mountain. The River Run area of Bald Mountain is full of slopes covering all ranges of abilities. The most difficult runs, Olympic and Exhibition, are countered by an easier Olympic Ridge and Olympic Lane. From the top, intermediate skiers can choose Cutoff or Blue Grouse to Mid River Run to get back to the River Run Lift.
The ski and snowboard half-pipe is located on the skier’s left side of Lower Warm Springs, below the race arena. The u-shaped terrain features are about 400 feet in length, 40 feet wide, with walls about 12 feet high.
Dollar Mountain caters to the needs of beginners with 10 runs and over 200 experienced instructors available to improve your alpine, snowboarding or racing skills.
Day Lodges
Sun Valley Company day lodges all have excellent restaurants. Skiers can settle down to a lunch of prime rib, salmon, stone-fired pizza and many other delights, all while enjoying panoramic views.

- Sun Valley’s newest mountain lodge offers beautiful European décor. Located at the base of Dollar Mountain, the lodge is an easy walk from Sun Valley village.

- Built in 1939, is the first day lodge on Bald Mt. Midway up on the River Run side, this restaurant welcomes non-skiers as well who can buy a "foot traffic" pass and enjoy the food, friends and views—lunch only.
Cross Country Ski & Snowshoe

- Sun Valley Nordic Center is within walking distance of the Sun Valley Lodge. There are 41 km. of cross-country ski trails are groomed and marked for difficulty. 4 km. are dog friendly. Lessons are available.
- North Valley Trails (North of Ketchum)
- North Valley Trails have more than 100 km. of groomed trails in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area. Dogs are welcome to accompany you on 30 km. of designated groomed trails. The largest center is Galena Lodge with 56 km. of trails, a full restaurant and a ski shop. It also has a 15- km. snowshoe trail and snowshoe rentals. A popular event is dinner followed by moonlit skiing, or star gazing dinners with local astronomers. Galena is 24 miles north of Ketchum on Hwy. 75.
Backcountry Tours

Heli-Ski

- Sun Valley Heli-Ski offers backcountry ski adventures for all levels of skiers. Ski legendary light dry powder on over 750 square miles of alpine and tree ski terrain. This was America’s first Heli-Ski operation established in 1966. If you’re into deep powder this is a peak experience.
Snowmobiling

- Enjoy groomed trails that traverse the beautiful Stanly basin. The 18 mile section that to Redfish Lake afford breathtaking views and a good chance to see wildlife.
