The ski resorts around Park City are known for dry, deep powder and snowfall averages between 300 and 500 inches annually. This famous powder snow provides excellent ski and snowboard conditions throughout the ski season.
The area is home to the US Ski Team, and hosted the 2002 Winter Olympics. Several ski resorts offer runs used by the Olympic athletes in 2002.
Summer activities at local ski resorts and surrounding areas include disc golf courses, hot air balloon rides, gondola rides, fly fishing and white water rafting.
- Deer Valley

- This resort is luxurious and upscale, offering valet parking, gourmet meals and very well groomed slopes. Deer Valley is a ski only resort (no snowboarding), offering a more relaxed ski experience for skiers, with runs available for novice to mid-level skiers.

- Park City Mountain Resort

- This international ski destination is the oldest, most popular resort in the Park City area. Founded in 1963, it offers 100 trails, 9 bowls, and a ski school for novice skiers. Snowboarders are welcome at Park City Mountain Resort. The resort offers a lighted half-pipe and four terrain parks for optimal fun!
- The US Ski Team trains at the Park City Mountain Resort, and the resort hosted the 2002 Olympic snowboarding and giant slalom events.
- The resort offers a vast array of shops along Main Street.
- The Canyons

- With trails spread over eight mountains, this 3700 acre resort offers 155 trails and 17 lifts. Trails are available for all levels, but the Canyons is known for its many advanced runs. The resort offers two terrain parks for snowboarders, as well as six natural half-pipes.

- Snowbird/Alta

- About an hour’s drive from Paradise VIP’s Park City properties, but well worth the drive are Snowbird and Alta Ski Resorts. Snowbird is one of the most challenging mountains in the United States. Rated the number one ski resort in the US for five years in a row by SKIING Magazine, Snowbird and Alta offer amazing runs for all levels – 35% expert, 38% intermediate, 27% beginner. Offering 89 runs, annual snowfall averaging 500 inches, and an exceptionally long season (mid November to mid May), Snowbird is an ideal ski destination!
- Located a mile from Alta in the Wasatch-Cache National Forest, Snowbird is in an area originally known for its silver mines. In fact, the Big Emma Run is named after the original Emma Mine. Base elevation at the Snowbird Center is 8100 feet, and Hidden Peak affords the highest elevation at 11,000 feet.
- Other winter activities at Snowbird include snowmobile tours, ice skating, swimming pools and live music. The resort offers 15 restaurants, 5 bars, a luxurious spa, and spacious meeting and conference rooms and is conveniently located just 29 miles from Salt Lake City International Airport, and an hour from Paradise VIP Park City condos.
